The Dirty Seeds. No gimmicks, just four strangers gathered together by an ape-like stoner prophet from the future to save humanity with loud rock n roll.
After coming together in 2012, The Dirty Seeds honed their riff heavy brand of stoner rock around the greater Houston area before travelling to Dallas to record their debut EP, King Kush, at Crystal Clear Sound with Kent Stump of Wo Fat at the controls in 2014.
Described as, "No frills, no BS, just unabashed stoner rock that echoes driving ninety down a deserted road full of Lone Star while you run from the cops kind of vibe," The Dirty Seeds continue to expand beyond their home base of Houston, TX to bring riff heavy rock to the masses. Along the way, they have had the privelage of sharing the stage with such bands as Wo Fat, Mothership, Karma To Burn, Black Pussy, Ape Machine, Duel, Monster Truck, White Light Cemetery, Choke, Destroyer of Light, Switcblade Jesus, Greenbeard, Joy, Mac Sabbath, and Project Armageddon.
The Dirty Seeds are: David Ward: vocals, guitar Tomas Sanchez: lead guitar
Mothership, The Satanic Overlords of Rock N Roll, and The Dirty Seeds show review
Thanks to Negalithic for the write up:
"The Dirty Seeds started the evening off with the ritual invocation to drink beer and bang some heads in the process. So it was written, so it shall be done. The Seeds sound mixed doomy passages with blues based boogie that keeps the neck snapping. These guys play around a lot and are getting seriously good, with drummer Chad Leibold in particular leaving it all out there and leading the band to some great crescendos. They were joined tonight by Project Armageddon’s Doomstress Alexis for a singalong chorus of American Zombie off of the King Kush EP - I’m hoping for a full length soon."
James from The National Rock Review was in attendance at our Fellowship of the Fuzz stoner rock showcase show with Mr Plow, Switchblade Jesus, and Vermilion Whiskey.
"The Dirty Seeds closed the night. They began their set with “Pablo Escobar’s Dog.” Doomstress Alexis Hollada of Project Armageddon joined them next for “American Zombie” and “The Dirty Wizard” to the delight of those in the venue, the masses who sang along.
As Doomstress Alexis left the stage to lingering applause, The Dirty Seeds followed with a heavy “Half Baked” and “High On You.” They saved the best for last. Ross Brown, of Vermillion Whiskey, joined the band onstage to play a nearly twenty-minute free-form jam of “The Mountain.” Ross and the band mesmerized those in attendance, leaving everyone wanting more.
The Dirty Seeds are Dave Ward (vocals and guitar), Tomas Sanchez (guitar), Chad Leibold (drums), and Scott Sniderwin (bass)."
